Pousada Bararati

Pousada Bararati sits between the Juruena River and the Bararati River in the remote south of Amazonas state, reachable only by charter flight from Manaus or Alta Floresta. The land-based lodge combines air-conditioned wooden cabins with Wi-Fi, 24-hour power, and laundry service: genuine comfort at a remote Amazon fishing base with minimal human impact and pristine surrounding forest.

The Juruena is one of the last rivers in Brazil with healthy wild stocks of giant piraíba catfish, tiger surubim (caparari), and peacock bass in size and numbers. Five full fishing days are spent aboard 6-meter aluminum boats with swivel chairs, unlimited fuel, and native local guides. In addition to the Juruena, the Bararati River and adjacent lakes round out the schedule with multiple target species and environments.

All meals are included throughout the 6-day trip: a hearty breakfast buffet, lunch, and dinner daily, along with water, soft drinks, juices, caipirinhas, and unlimited beer. Premium spirits can be pre-ordered. The lodge accommodates up to 16 anglers and features a long dining table, a common lounge, a TV room with a stocked beer fridge, and organized rod racks for both light-tackle and heavy catfish setups.

The package is fully all-inclusive: round-trip charter air transfer (2h from Manaus or 1h20 from Alta Floresta) plus a 60-minute boat ride to the lodge. There is no road access. Live bait and lead sinkers are provided; personal fishing gear is the angler's responsibility.
