Recanto dos Tucunarés

Recanto dos Tucunarés is a sport fishing lodge on the shores of Lago do Manso (the Manso River reservoir in the Cerrado of Mato Grosso), accessed via MT-020 in the João Carro tourist district, Chapada dos Guimarães. Individual chalets with solid finishes, a swimming pool, and a dedicated dining hall let fishing groups settle in for multi-day sessions without handling separate logistics.

Lago do Manso holds three well-established peacock bass species. The Yellow Peacock Bass (Cichla kelberi) is the most abundant: highly aggressive, ambushing from shallow structure: fallen timber, rocky outcrops, and margins. The Blue Peacock Bass (Cichla piquiti), locally known as "Azulão," is the most coveted trophy on the reservoir: it ranges from deeper water to sandy beaches and island points, delivering spectacular fights on topwater lures like poppers and prop baits. The Pinima Peacock Bass (Cichla pinima), less frequent but caught regularly, stands out for its impressive size and raw power. Native guides lead each group on an exclusive aluminum fishing boat with padded seats; 30 liters of fuel per day cover the reservoir's most productive spots. Catch-and-release is practiced throughout the season.

Accommodation features twin-bed group layouts with marble-effect porcelain tile floors, dark wood slat walls, air conditioning, and private marble-tiled bathrooms with full-glass showers, finishes well above average for a Brazilian inland fishing lodge. A double-bed chalet is also available for couples or anglers who prefer more privacy.

Shore facilities include a stone-deck swimming pool with pergola and sun loungers, a thatched-roof BBQ pavilion, landscaped grounds with lakeside gazebo loungers, and a spacious barn-style dining hall. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all included; beverages are sold separately at the integrated bar.

Round-trip road transfers in a branded lodge SUV/van, 5 nights of lodging, and 4 full fishing days are bundled into the R$ 5,000 per-angler price for the 2027 season. Pick-up point and exact dates are confirmed by the team at booking. Season capacity is limited.
